New Audiobook Review: The Gray Man

Rated 5 of 5 stars

To those who lurk in the shadows, he’s known as the Gray Man. He is a legend in the covert realm, moving silently from job to job, accomplishing the impossible and then fading away. And he always hits his target. Always.
But there are forces more lethal than Gentry in the world. Forces like money. And power. And there are men who hold these as the only currency worth fighting for. And in their eyes, Gentry has just outlived his usefulness.

But Court Gentry is going to prove that, for him, there’s no gray area between killing for a living and killing to stay alive…

This audiobook is worth every hour spent with it! You get taken into the action early and at such a clipped pace that you wonder whether you have missed something important. Greaney has a special skill at writing characters that have depth, and converse values and somewhat shadowy morality. I fell in love with Gentry within the first two chapters. I understood him, liked his style. This will happen to any and everyone who listens or reads this story…Court Gentry will get your heart and mind one way or the other.

Gentry is a skilled fighter, marksman and strategic thinker. He works alone, uses his resources appropriately and pushes through all the pain and effort it takes to come out alive in some nearly impossible situations. He is very human. You won’t get the “this guy is perfect in everything” vibe but you will respect that he is exceptionally good at his craft.

I don’t and won’t tell you much about this story because there are a lot of moving parts that fit together but someone wants Court dead and is using the full force of those at their disposal to try and make this happen. Fortunately and unfortunately, Court is a legend and known in the assassin world as the best and no one knows his identity. What would happen if that changed though???

If you enjoy fast paced, ass-kicking rogue agent type stories then you will fall blissfully into this story. The narrator is perfect for this type of thrill ride and has the best transitions and acting in the business. Five star and highly recommended.
